Kirsten Denney of Alta High School now has the chance of winning a new car, which she could really use since her cousin crashed her last one. “It would be a miracle for my family if I could win a car!” she exclaimed. Kirsten received her Key Card for raising her grades and attendance. Not only did she raise them, but she raised them to a 3.8 and perfect attendance with no tardiness or absences this year. “I decided to put my heart into it this year so that I could graduate,” she says.

Kirsten wants to be a pre-school teacher when she graduates from college. She is planning on attending Dixie College. “I love working with children. I am currently a pre-school assistant and just love it,” she says. Kirsten has had some support to help instigate her turn around in school. “If I could, I would like to recognize my friends and family for all the support they have given me; especially my friend Mike. He won’t let me settle for anything!” she says. Kirsten thinks, “the best part of the Keys to Success program is that is gives kids opportunities to achieve something and also be noticed for it.”

"Education is a life-long pursuit and one of the greatest accomplishments an individual can achieve. It helps define who we are, what we believe and how we can serve our fellow man. Literacy and numeracy enable us to live within our society; the arts and humanities develop intrinsic qualities of civility, ethics and wisdom that encourage character growth; and the sciences improve the quality of our lives through research, understanding and implementation. It is our goal to enhance and enrich every child's educational experience."
